Frequently Asked Questions What is Hands to Hold Resource Center LLC and what service do they provide?: Hands to Hold Resource Center LLC is designed to provide an adoptive family with additional resources and support they may need as they work towards a successful adoption plan by providing services such as consulting, profile assistance and feedback, additional networking avenues, marketing a families profile and sharing available adoption situations/opportunities that may otherwise not have be made known to the families (small agency that does not post on the web, primarily advertises locally, lacks resource to recruit additional adoptive families..). This is not inclusive of our service to an adoptive family; it is only shared as examples of our commitment to the adoptive families who allow us to assist in their adoption journey. Each adoptive family will have different varying levels of needed assistance. Our primary focus is to assist adoptive families towards a successful journey. Hands to Hold Resource Center is an Out Reach Resource Provider to the many entity's across the United States when they are seeking adoptive families. Hands to Hold Resource Center does have a business relationship with each entity that contacts us for assistance. By establishing a professional business relationship with theses entities we are able to provide them with the expanded ability to reach a broader range of prospective adoptive parent(s) when they have exhausted their internal options and resources. Families registered with Hands to Hold Resource Center will receive information about those situations/opportunities before they become available to the general public on any forum board or website. Is Hand to Hold Resource Center authorized to conduct business in their state and what is their limitation of liability?: Hands to Hold Resource Center is a Limited Liability Company that is registered with the State of Oklahoma. It has met and completed all of the state and local requirements that allows our company to conduct business in our state of origin. Hands to Hold Resource Center is an Accredited Business with the Better Business Bureau. Hands to Hold Resource Center’s Limitation of Liability is limited too and shall not exceed the actual service fee paid. Hands to Hold Resource Center will not be held liable for any financial loss, emotion distress or physical damage resulting from an adoptive family’s contract agreement with a child placing entity. We suggest an adoptive family consult legal counsel with any questions. When was Hands to Hold Resource Center established?: Hands to Hold Resource Center was formally Hands to Hold Referral. Hands to Hold Referral began working with adoptive families in November 2005 in Kansas. In 2007, Hands to Hold relocated their office to Oklahoma where we are located today. Our commitment to the adoptive families remains as strong today as it did when we started. It is this commitment that has lead us to expand and provide more resources to adoptive families to they can utilize to reach their adoption goals. Is Hands to Hold Resource Center a facilitator?: Hands to Hold Resource Center is not a facilitator nor do we operate as a facilitator. The primary purpose of an adoption facilitator is to provide a “matching” service. Facilitators operate as a independent business entity that are not licensed as an adoption agency or placing agency whose only purpose of business is to engage in a “matching” of expectant/birth parents with adoptive families. A facilitator will advertise for expectant/birth parents as well as adoptive families and they will have a direct relationship with both. Hands to Hold Resource Center does not provide a match service. We do not match expectant/birth parent(s) with prospective adoptive families. We do not work with expectant/birth parent(s) nor do we advertise for them. We do not establish a relationship between an Expectant/Birth parent(s) and the Adoptive family and we do not act as an intermediary between those families. We are not in a position to have any influence on the selection process of an adoptive family and the expectant/birth parent. We provide Out Reach Resource assistance to an entity that is seeking adoptive families. We assist an adoptive family in establishing a relationship with the entity, not the expectant/birth parent. We are assisting the adoptive family in being presented to an agency, attorney or social worker without the adoptive family having to pay any application fees or presentation fees in order to be considered by the entity for any of their unmatched situations/opportunities. Can Hands to Hold Resource Center work in all 50 states?: According to the many attorney's we have spoken with and those with whom we currently work closely with, the answer is "Yes". As noted above we are not conducting business as a facilitator. We do not match or advertise for expectant/birth parents for the purpose of "matching" them with adoptive families. Hands to Hold Resource Centers business objective is to provide resources to an adoptive family and to those entities that we have an established business relationship. We provide an adoptive family with Consulting and additional marketing avenues which is allowed in all 50 states. ONLY a licensed attorney can provide legal advice on this manner. Consulting an attorney is vital to the success of a legal adoption. What is the average adoption cost for situations/opportunities that Hands to Hold Resource Center receives from licensed child placing agencies, attorney’s and/or facilitators?: The fees do vary according to each individual entity. Hands to Hold Resource Center does not have any control or influence over the fees associated with each entities Out Reach request. The average cost associated with each out reach request can range between $23,000 - $50,000. Regrettably it is unlikely that Hands to Hold Resource Center will be able to assist those adoptive families with budgets of less than $23,000. We do encourage all families to remain pro-active in their adoption journey as there are other avenues and available resources that may better fit the adoptive family’s goals. Visit our Additional Resource Links for useful tools. Where does Hands to Hold Resource Center receive information about situation/opportunities that are posted on their website?: Hands to Hold Resource Center is an Out Reach Resource Provider to the many entity's across the United States when they are seeking adoptive families. Hands to Hold Resource Center does not and will not have any direct or indirect contact with the expectant/birth parent the adoption entities have as clients. We do not cut, copy and/or paste situations/opportunities to our website that we have not had a direct contact with the entity. How does the process work with Hands to Hold Resource Center?: Adoptive families interested in our service must register thru our on line registration process. Registration is FREE! Once an adoptive family has successfully registered with Hands to Hold Resource Center, their information is placed in our active database. We may contact the adoptive family if we need additional information. Hands to Hold Resource Center does not need a copy of the adoptive families home study, that will be gathered as needed. We do request that the adoptive family email or snail mail a copy of their introduction document (profile) to us once they have completed the registration process. When Hands to Hold Resource Center receives in a request for assistance from an entity as part of their Out Reach for additional adoptive families, we will query our database for families whose adoption plan closely matches the request of the Out Reach entity. We will then send the information to those adoptive families for which the opportunity matches closely to their adoption plan and/or the adoptive family meet the entities criteria/request. We do not send out a "bulk" email to all registered families. If an adoptive family is interested in being considered by the entity that we are providing Out Reach Resource assistance to and the adoptive family is a registered family, they just need to notify us of their interest. Hands to Hold Resource Center will work on behalf of the adoptive family in gathering all of the required documentation the entity requires be submitted for consideration directly to the agency, attorney or social worker who has contacted us for assistance. If the entity requires an application fee, that fee will be waived for families from Hands to Hold Resource Center for the consideration phase of the process. The fee will still apply but it will be included in the agency fee that gets paid only if the family is selected and moves forward with a contract agreement with the entity, it just will not be due to be considered. If Hands to Hold Resource Center provides Out Reach Resource services to an entity on behalf of an adoptive family, and the adoptive family is not selected at the time of being presented for consideration by the entity or any of their clients but are selected by the entity or one of their clients within one year of the initial contact established by Hands to Hold Resource between parties then Hands to Holds Resource Centers service fee becomes due at that time of acceptance. Had it not been for the resources provided on behalf of the family by Hands to Hold Resource Center at the initial contact between all parties, the adoptive family would not have known about the entity seeking adoptive families. The agreement with Hands to Hold Resource Center is for one (1) year beginning from the time that Hands to Hold Resource Center initially presented the adoptive family to the entity for consideration NOT from the date of registration for our service. Example: Hands to Hold Resource Center is providing out reach resource support to an entity known as ABC in January 2006. An adoptive family registered with Hands to Hold Resource Center request that we assist them in being presented to ABC while they are seeking adoptive families for consideration. ABC does not select the adoptive family at the time of initial contact. But 2 months later ABC contacts the adoptive family for consideration for one of their clients. If the adoptive family accepts the consideration with ABC and enters into a contract agreement with ABC then Hands to Hold Resource Center’s service fee is due since we were the initial company who worked on behalf of the adoptive family to establish the relationship to ABC initially. If ABC contacts the adoptive family in February 2007 for consideration and the adoptive family decided to move forward by entering into a contract agreement with ABC, then there is not a service fee is due to Hands to Hold Resource Center because one (1) full year has elapsed from the initial contact. This one year rule applies both ways - if the entity contacts the family for consideration or the adoptive family contacts the entity for consideration after Hands to Hold Resource Center was involved in the initial consideration process between parties. Does Hands to Hold Resource Center charge a fee for the services provided?: Hands to Hold Resource Centers has a service fee of $2,500.00 which is due upon a contract acceptance with an entity for which Hands to Hold Resource Center was instrumental in providing assistance on behalf of the adoptive family. The service fee is non-refundable as services are provided up front and are considered rendered upon the contract agreement. The fee paid to Hands to Hold Resource Center will roll over to another entity that we provide out reach resource assistance to should an adoptive family have a disruption thru no fault of their own. How does an Adoptive family know their on-line registration was received?: Once the registrant selects the "Submit" button on the on-line registration form, the registration is received and the registrant is directed to another web page which "Thanks" the registrant for registering with Hands to Hold Resource Center. This page only appears when the registration is processed successfully and received by email in Hands to Hold Resource Center's email box. You WILL NOT receive a follow up email to acknowledge your registration - the additional web page takes care of that process. You may email or call us if you have additional questions or concerns or simply want to check to verify your registration was received. We ask that you be gracious enough to keep your registration information up to date. If you adopt please let us know so that we may close or update your file, if you change emails or contact information we will need that new information in order to reach you, and if for any reason you wish your file to be closed please send us an email with that request.
